Final: Red Sox 8, Baltimore Orioles 1

In his final start of the season, Nathan Eovaldi tossed six shutout innings and the Red Sox rode a six-run third inning to a one-sided 9-1 shellacking of the Baltimore Orioles.

Eovaldi fanned eight and walked just one to lead the Sox.

Rafael Devers knocked in three runs with a bases-loaded double in the third while Kevin Plawecki chipped in with a triple and two singles and two RBI.

T6th:   This will likely be the final inning for Eovaldi, who starts the sixth with 72 pitches.

B3rd:   Devers snaps an 0-for-10 with six strikeouts by lashing a double into the RF corner, emptying the bases. The rout is on, 8-0.

B3rd:   Baltimore outfielder Austin Hays makes an ill-advised dive for a blooper by Kevin Plawecki in right -- and misses. Ball rolls into the corner and Plawecki has a run-scoring triple.

B3rd:   J.D. Martinez doubles to dead center, scoring Xander Bogaerts. Bradley followed, hitting the ball on the screws to the warning track in RF, just in front of the visitor's bullpen.

T3rd:  Eovaldi continues to cruise -- he's threw three scoreless innings, with six strikeouts.

B1st:  Consecutive two-out base hits to right field -- first Jackie Bradley Jr., then Kevin Plawecki -- and the Red Sox are off to a quick 2-0 lead.

B1st: Rafael Devers is in something of a funk at the plate. He's fans in his first at-bat, making in five strikeouts in his last six at-bats dating back to Tuesday night.

B1st: Alex Verdugo opens the home half of the first with a Wall-scraping double, his 16th double of the season.

T1st: Strong top of the first from Nathan Eovaldi, who racks up three strikeouts sandwiched around a two-out single.
