Well, they gave it a hell of a run.

The Patriots, who trailed most of the second half by two scores, never said die and had a chance to win the game from the Seattle 1-yard line with 3 seconds left. But Cam Newton was upended for a 1-yard loss.

Most of the questions will center on the defense, which allowed Seattle to throw for five touchdowns, and rush for 5.8 yards per carry.

Newton threw for 397 yards, with a 179 coming from Julian Edelman.
