BSJ Daily Briefing 09.03.20: Celtics look to step on Raptors; Damien Harris hurt; Gostkowski signs taken at BSJ Headquarters (Regular Features)

Good afternoon!

Your daily rundown of what's going on with the Patriots, Red Sox, Celtics, Bruins and Revolution, and what's about to happen, for BSJ members only  ...

  • Celtics will look to all but finish off the Raptors tonight in Game 3.

  • Boston should try to make quick work of Toronto because what the Heat are doing to the Bucks — among other things — means the Celtics have a legit shot to win the whole thing this year.

  • Patriots running back Damien Harris sustained a finger injury in practice this week, which was first reported by NFL Network. I've learned that Harris is supposed to miss "a few weeks" which would put his status for the season-opener in doubt. Patriots don't seem overly worried about it, and Harris is still very much in their plans.

  • What does this mean to the roster? In theory, it could mean Lamar Miller or JJ Taylor stick on the roster for another week or two, but that means one less player at another position. I think the Patriots should stick with four RBs.

  • Stephen Gostkowski has landed with the Tennessee Titans. He now has a home in the state.

  • Patriots released Mohamed Sanu, who cost them a second-round pick and $3 million for eight games. What a disaster the team was last year at receiver. Yes, I think that was the final straw for Brady with the team, between the receiver position and Antonio Brown.

  • I gave out my awards from training camp.

  • Bruce Cassidy broke down a disappointing finish.
