PREGAME NOTES: 

Jaroslav Halak will get the start for Boston in its round-robin opener, with Bruce Cassidy announcing Sunday morning that Tuukka Rask, although “feeling better,” will not play in the matchup. Dan Vladar will serve as backup for Boston. Brad Marchand, who missed the end of Boston’s exhibition matchup against Columbus on Thursday, will play against Philly. 

The Flyers won two of three games against the Bruins this season, 3-2 in a shootout Nov. 10 and 6-5 in a shootout Jan. 13. The Bruins won 2-0 on March 10 to end Philadelphia's nine-game winning streak in the final game for each team before the NHL season was paused on March 12 due to COVID-19.
