By the numbers:
RB J.J. Taylor, Arizona (5-foot-5, 185 pounds, 4.61 in 40-yard dash): "Has some utility and third-down potential," said one NFL scout. Said another: "Good hands, vision, quickness/burst/feet, kickoff return production." ... Built well for his size with a big lower body. Has a chance, just lacks home-run speed. ... Ranked in the top three among running backs at the combine in the three-cone drill and 20-yard shuttle after putting up 148 carries, 721 yards, 4.9 average, five touchdowns; 32 catches, 289 yards, 9.0 average; 19 kick returns, 448 yards, 23.6 average.
QB J’Mar Smith, Louisiana Tech (6-0, 218, 4.8): Was C-USA Offensive Player of the Year award after completing 236-of-367 passes (64.3 percent) for 2,977 yards and 18 touchdowns against five interceptions. Also rushed 100 times for a 2.6 average, but in college, sacks count against rushing stats. Missed two games for a suspension. ... Doesn't have as much positional versatility as some other prospects.
