THREE UP
Rafael Devers: Monster game with two homers and 5 RBI, and kept the Sox' hopes alive in the ninth.
Michael Chavis: Was 4 for 4 in his season debut at first base and was just pelting the ball all over the place.
Josh Taylor: Provided 2.1 innings of stellar relief to keep the Red Sox in it.
THREE DOWN
Eduardo Rodriguez: Staked with a 4-0 lead and nearly perfect through three innings, he should have cruised. But his control got away from him and he couldn't get out of the fourth inning. If he wants to be the new ace, he has to do a lot better than that.
Ron Roenicke: Should have realized the wheels were coming off with Rodriguez and allowed him to leave with the lead. Big mistake and he's going to get hammered for it.
Kevin Pillar: That's a big 0 for 5 bagel in the middle of the lineup, and JD Martinez didn't fare much better (1 for 4) in the cleanup spot.
