PREGAME NOTES:
- The Bruins’ road doesn’t get any easier on this four-game road trip, as Boston will look to snap their four-game losing streak when they take on the Lightning down in Tampa Bay on Thursday night. This stands as the second meeting between both teams, with Tampa Bay posting a shootout victory over the B’s at TD Garden back on Oct. 17.
- While Tampa Bay has yet to hit its stride so far this season, the Bolts have had plenty of success over Boston, winning three in a row and five of its last six overall against Boston. Steven Stamkos has tallied three goals and six total points in his last three games against Boston, while Anthony Cirelli has scored four goals against the Bruins in his young career.
- The Lightning have dropped four of their last five games at Amalie Arena, but have also cashed in on 34.5% of their power-play chances on home ice.
- The Bruins’ power play is due for a breakout, given that the man advantage is currently stuck in a 2-for-25 rut. Tampa’s penalty kill has been rather average this season with a success rate of 79.4% — 19th overall in the NHL.
- Boston will not switch around its forward corps following Wednesday’s 3-2 loss to the Capitals, although it seems like John Moore will slot in on the third D pairing in place of Connor Clifton. Tuukka Rask will get the start in net.
