Kyrie Irving was not in the same zip code as the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday night, but that did not prevent the point guard from hearing plenty from the TD Garden faithful.
Irving sat out his seventh straight game with a right shoulder impingement as his Nets fell without him 121-110 in an offensive shootout that saw both teams combine for 34 3-pointers.
Irving wasn’t in the building for this game (or any other contests on Brooklyn’s three-game road trip) to rehab and likely avoid the conflict that awaited him in a return to two of his former homes (Cleveland and Boston). However, it was evident just minutes after the game ended that the constant chants of “Kyrie sucks” and “Where is Kyrie?” left a mark with the former Celtics guard from afar.
