Final: Bruins 2, Senators 1 - B's rally back, sweep back-to-back slate with win over Sens

The Bruins will look to make it five wins in a row when they travel to Ottawa to take on the Senators on Wednesday night. Puck drop is set for 7:00 p.m. Follow along for updates from Wednesday’s game.

7:50: End First: 0-0 game. Senators with a 7-0 edge in high-danger scoring chances during 5v5 play. A 31-9 edge in overall shot attempts for Ottawa.

7:42: Gaunce is whistled for a slash. Bruins now head to the PK.

PREGAME NOTES:

After dropping eight goals against the Canadiens on Tuesday night, the Bruins will look to carry over some momentum into the second leg of a back-to-back when they battle the Senators. Boston will not hold a practice ahead of Wednesday’s matchup, so any lineup changes will be announced about an hour ahead of puck drop. 

UPDATE: Brendan Gaunce will slot in for Studnicka, who would have played his fifth game in six nights. Steven Kampfer will play in place of Clifton.

Big news on the contract front, as Charlie Coyle and Chris Wagner are staying in Boston for a long, long time. 

Still, after scoring eight goals less than 24 hours earlier, it wouldn’t come as much of a surprise if Bruce Cassidy doesn’t tinker with his lineup all that much. The only confirmed change is the man in net, as Tuukka Rask will get the start against Ottawa.

Ottawa might be sitting near the bottom of the Eastern Conference, but the Sens’ young roster has actually strung together some solid play as of late — going 7-3-0 in its last 10 games. 

Jean-Gabriel Pageau has been on a roll for the Senators, with the top-six center tallying 13 points (10 goals, 3 assists) in his last 13 games. Ottawa has some high-end, young talent both up front in Brady Tkachuk and on the blue line in Thomas Chabot, but special teams continue to be a struggle with this club — with Ottawa sitting in dead last in the NHL in terms of power-play success rate at 9.8%.
