PREGAME NOTES:
- Boston is set to add more regulars back into the lineup, as Torey Krug will play Saturday after missing the last five games due to an upper-body injury. Brett Ritchie will also play, while Par Lindholm will be held out after suffering a cut on the leg Thursday night. Jaroslav Halak will get the start in net.
- On the blue line, Steven Kampfer will return to the lineup in place of Connor Clifton. Bruce Cassidy noted that they want to get Kampfer back in the fold, but it could also be a move designed to manage Clifton’s NHL service time. He only needs three more games up at the NHL level before he is no longer exempt from waivers.
- Boston has had plenty of success at TD Garden so far this year, with Boston failing to drop any of its 12 home games in regulation (8-0-4 record).
- Despite a slow start, Minnesota has made major strides over the last week or so, posting a record of 3-0-1 in its last four matchups. Ryan Donato will look to do some damage against his former club, although the Harvard product has primarily skated on Minnesota’s fourth line as of late. This year, Donato has one goal and three total points over 20 games played.
