PREGAME NOTES:
- After suffering their first regulation loss in close to a month on Tuesday against Montreal, the Bruins will look to get back on track against a woeful Red Wings team that ranks dead last in goals scored per game (2.06) and first in goals allowed per game (4.00).
- The Bruins’ lineup took another hit following Tuesday’s game, as Jake DeBrusk will not play on Friday due to a lower-body injury. With DeBrusk out, Peter Cehlarik will get another shot with the big club and will skate to David Krejci’s left, while Zach Senyshyn will look to build off of a strong season debut on a line with Charlie Coyle and Anders Bjork.
- Boston’s blue line will also get overhauled, as Zdeno Chara will skate with Connor Clifton, while the B’s will try to get offense generating from the D corps by slotting Charlie McAvoy next to Matt Grzelcyk.
- Tuukka Rask will get the start for the second game in a row, with the B’s goalie 7-1-2 with a 2.17 goals-against average and .922 save percentage in his past 10 starts against the Red Wings. David Pastrnak will look to extend his point streak to 14 games on Friday, which would give him the Bruins' third-longest point streak since 1994-95. Adam Oates had a point in 20 straight games 1996-97 and Phil Kessel had an 18-point streak in 2008-09.
