Tom Brady: 'Offensively, we didn’t do a good enough job; too many missed opportunities'

BALTIMORE — Tom Brady's comments to the media after the game:

“I give them a lot of credit. They played a good game. They made a lot of plays offensively and defensively. We just didn’t match them. When you’re on the road, you’ve got to play well in all three phases. Offensively, we didn’t do a good enough job; too many missed opportunities.”

On your connection with WR Mohamed Sanu Sr.: “[Mohamed Sanu Sr.] played hard; all the guys played hard. Most of the guys were out there all night. At different times, we had really good rhythm, and at other times, we just couldn’t get into a rhythm. That’s NFL football. We’ve got to do better than we did tonight.”

On how WR Julian Edelman’s fumble shifted momentum: “[Julian Edelman] was just trying to get yards. They made a good play. Give them credit. Those types of plays, good defenses make. He avoided the first tackle, and then the other guy got his hands on him and punched the ball out. I was happy with the way we responded. Then we came back and scored again.”

On what the team can take from this game heading into the bye week: “Losses always find a way to recalibrate how you see yourself. We obviously have a lot of work to do. Tonight, obviously was not good enough. When you get beat by 17 points, that’s not what we’re all about. Give the Ravens credit, they played really well. They took advantage of their opportunities, and that’s what it takes.”

On running sub-packages in the game: “We just thought that they’d give us the best approach to win. Guys were out there playing hard. We went with the guys that we thought would give us the best chance to win, and those guys played hard. Everybody has to contribute at some point and come in and take advantage of the opportunities when they get them.”

On Mohamed Sanu Sr.’s improved performance: “We threw the ball a lot, so it’s going to be spread around to quite a few people. I’m happy he made a bunch of plays. I’m happy that Julian [Edelman] made a bunch of plays. All of us have to make a bunch more plays.”

On the ability to score touchdowns in the red zone: “Those are important plays. It really hasn’t been a strength for us all year. We’re going to have to figure it out.”
