- Something’s gotta give on Monday night, as a Bruins club that’s won five games in a row and hasn’t lost in regulation since October 10 is set to battle a Penguins team that has collected points in four straight games. Despite dealing with a slew of injuries, the Penguins have been able to stay more than afloat in the Metropolitan Division — with Evgeni Malkin now back in the lineup after missing over a month due to injury.
- Boston’s forward corps is still banged up, with four skaters still on the mend in Backes, Lindholm, Kuhlman and Nordstrom. With Boston in need of bottom-six penalty killers, the B’s called up hard-nosed forward Cameron Hughes, who tallied six points over 13 games down in Providence.
