Revolution left back Edgar Castillo was back in training Thursday, and according to team sporting director and head coach Bruce Arena, Castillo is a “possibility” to play in the Revs’ MLS Cup Playoff match with Atlanta United.

Arena made the comment during his weekly appearance with Patriots radio color commentator Scott Zolak and Marc Bertrand on WBZ-FM today.

Bertrand had asked Arena about the chances of Castillo playing against the Five Stripes next Saturday (1 p.m.).
“It’s a possibility,” Arena replied. “He trained today, and I was actually very impressed with him. We’ll have to see how he gets through training over the next week or so.”

Castillo has not played for the Revs since Aug. 17, when he went 88 minutes against New York Red Bulls. He had taken a shoulder from Red Bulls striker Bradley Wright-Phillips in the 77th minute, and has been out with a rib injury suffered in that incident.

Since then, DeJuan Jones and Jalil Anibaba have played in the left back position, with Anibaba the most recent player to feature at the No. 3.
