Bedard's Daily Briefing 09.23.19: Injuries, Gordon & defense big storylines out of Patriots going 3-0

Good morning!

A few random thoughts while I wonder what happened to the NFL I grew up with...

• Another week, another routine beating handed out by a Patriots team that didn't even play that great (except on defense). I mean, they can't run the ball and the offense had eight possessions with less than 23 yards and it didn't even come close meaning anything.


• I miss Rex Ryan.


• A tremendous game for Josh Gordon in many ways.


• Stephon Gilmore just continues to get better.


• Injuries ... not good yesterday.


• Oooh, the 3-0 Patriots vs. the 3-0 Bills. Yeah, that will matter much.


• Luke Falk would give Danny Etling a run for his money.


• I really hope Bill Belichick just answers the questions today and gets that story over with once and for all. He doesn't owe us anything, but he should provide the fans some answers. Just get it over with.


• Red Sox are playing out the string.


• Bruins are home tonight for a preseason tuneup.
