HEADLINES

Revs blow two-goal lead, yet miraculously stay seventh in East: As you’ll read in a bit, New England had a 3-1 lead at halftime, but two Orlando City goals in the first nine minutes of the second half turns the match on its ear, and the two Eastern Conference sides end up sharing the spoils in rainy Orlando. But thanks to FC Cincinnati’s shocking 1-0 win over Montreal — Allan Cruz with a first-minute goal which stood up for 89 minutes, plus upward of nine minutes of stoppage time in the second half — the Revolution remain in seventh place in the Eastern Conference. The draw puts The Boys In Blue at 10-10-10 through 30 games, with 40 points accrued.

Dwyer, Nani pull Orlando City level: The Revs either eased off the accelerator entering the second half, or Orlando City just pressed its gas pedal a little harder — and with it, either way, came a goal that made it 3-2 two minutes after the restart, and then the equalizer in the 54th minute. Dom Dwyer scored on a header positioned between Antonio Delamea and Andrew Farrell, and that occurred after Luis Caicedo did not close down on Nani, who sent the volley to Dwyer’s noggin. And then it was Nani who scored the equalizer at the top of the box with a little dipsy-do to turn and fire into the back of the net.
