First and 10: Chat recap, the latest from Miguel, and a ton of Patriots links to start your day taken at BSJ Headquarters (Patriots)

(Adam Richins/Boston Sports Journal)

Welcome to first and 10, a roundup of all the (mostly) Patriots-related news you need to start your Tuesday. Grab your coffee and let’s get to it.

Let's jump right into things this morning...

1. Another classic Monday afternoon Q&A is in the books. It ran the gamut, but there was a lot of Nick Caserio/Jack Easterby talk. Check out the transcript here.

2. Miguel dropped his latest mailbag with questions about Rob Gronkowski, Benjamin Watson, Patrick Chung, and much more.

3. I spent some quality time Monday night talking Patriots with Adam Jones on 98.5.

4. ESPN looks at veterans on each of the 32 teams who could be cut before the start of the regular season. When it comes to New England, Mike Reiss points the finger at Ryan Allen.

5. Kyle Rudolph had his doubts about the Patriots even being in play when it came to a possible trade.

6. Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report looks at the biggest question mark for each team heading into 2019. For the Patriots, it’s tight end. “For a New England offense that is used to having a premier mismatch at tight end, so much uncertainty at the position must make the defending champions a little nervous,” he writes.

7. Michael Roberts didn’t pass his physical with the Patriots, and the Lions waived him. On Monday, he was signed by the Packers.

8. Gregg Rosenthal of NFL.com has the NFL divisional power rankings, with the NFC North standing head and shoulders above the rest. Meanwhile, the AFC East is bringing up the rear.

9. Ex-Patriot Chandler Jones says the trade from New England to Arizona still serves as motivation on a daily basis. “I feel like at any time I can be traded,” he said. “It might sound bizarre to say, but I’m someone who has been in that situation. I’ve been traded before and that little sense of rejection is a crappy feeling, honestly. That’s what drives me. That’s what motivates me. I never want to get traded again.”

10. Brian Flores has created a “TNT wall” with the Dolphins.

Extra Point: In honor of his retirement, seems fitting. (I never had any contact with him, but I don’t know if I’ve ever heard a bad word uttered about Josh McCown.)
