New England’s run toward its potential lifting of the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup will start with a road match at New York Red Bulls in one of five all-MLS ties, as the pairings for the Fourth Round proper were announced Thursday morning.
The draw for the Fourth Round took place at Soccer House, the headquarters of US Soccer, in Chicago.
The matchup, which will be played on Tuesday, June 11 at 7:30 p.m., at Montclair State University's MSU Soccer Park in Montclair, N.J., will be the fourth time the Revs have met up with the Red Bulls in this competition. New England has only won one of those three outings, a 4-2 win at Harvard University’s Jordan Field on June 12, 2013.
Two years ago, the Revs were ousted by the Red Bulls, 1-0, at Harvard.
