PREGAME NOTES:

  • With home ice secured against the Maple Leafs in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, the Bruins are set to rest a number of regulars in the lineup — with Brad Marchand, David Krejci, Zdeno Chara, Chris Wagner and Charlie McAvoy all scratched for the matchup.

  • "Krejci's out, Marchand's out, Chara, McAvoy — Wagner is out," Bruce Cassidy said. "We ruled him out yesterday. We'll see about Saturday for him. I suspect those four guys will go back in Saturday and we'll look at some other players for that game. Depending on how tonight goes."

  • Trent Frederic and Zach Senyshyn are set to enter the lineup for Boston, with Senyshyn set to make his NHL debut. For more on the former first-round pick, click here.

  • Ryan Donato and Charlie Coyle will have a chance to do some damage against their former teams on Thursday. After the Bruins dealt Donato in late February, the Harvard product has ran with the added minutes in the Wild lineup, tallying four goals and 16 points over 20 games with his new team. He will skate on Minnesota's top line with Eric Staal and Luke Kunin on Thursday.

  • Despite beating the Jets, 5-1, on Tuesday, the Wild were eventually eliminated from playoff contention that night after the Avalanche beat the Oilers. Minnesota has an all-time record of 14-6-3 against the Bruins.
