WHAT’S UP: The Boys In Blue enter Match Day 5 desperate for a win, especially after the heinous performance six days ago. Enter Minnesota United, fresh off a bye, and looking to right things after a 3-2 defeat to a shorthanded LA Galaxy team two weeks ago.
Sean here on a rather nice afternoon in the Borough of Foxes. The match is underway, the starting XIs, benches, and match notes are below the running commentary.
The Revs are in the home Navy Blues and will get us started; they're headed toward the Banner End. The Loons, in the traveling whites, toward The Fort in the first half. Periodic updates to follow. Enjoy the match.
2' Revs with a turnover in the Banner End, Loons get the ball down the other end rapidly. Oh boy.
5' Minnesota is offside for the second time this season.
6' WHAT THE HELL IS THAT BRANDON BYE... thankfully, Scott Caldwell is there to clean up.
7' Agudelo gets a shot off on a Caldwell high press dispossession, but it leads to a blocked shot.... and a corner, corner's cleared.
9' Another corner, partially cleared by Minnie.
10' GOAL REVOLUTION, and it's Jalil Anibaba! He has his hand up as Caldwell lays off to Gil... Gil takes a touch to the left, serves up the volley, and Anibaba with the diving header. 1-0 to the Revs. Huge goal.
Diving header from @jalil_anibaba4 opens the scoring for @NERevolution! ?#NEvMIN pic.twitter.com/LflVaCDxWE
