It now appears Julian Edelman has two separate incentive clauses in his current deal.
There is an annual year-end reconciliation of incentives, which caused some of Edelman's incentives to be classified as LTBE (Likely to Be Earned). That caused a change in his cap number, which was confirmed by a league source. Here are the details:
He has a $500,000 incentive which can be earned in one of the four ways:
- 1,057 receiving yards
- 70 receptions plus seven TDs
- 80 receptions plus Super Bowl appearance
- 80 catches AND 13 wins
- $500,000 for sixty receptions
- Another $500,000 for seventy receptions ($1,000,000 total)
- Another $500,000 for eighty receptions ($1,500,000 total)
- Another $500,000 for ninety receptions ($2,000,000 total)
- Another $500,000 for one hundred receptions ($2,500,000 total)
