Bedard’s Daily Briefing 02.21.19: Bruins make a deal … are they done? Celtics start big stretch

[get_snippet] [theme-my-login show_title=0]

Good morning!

A few random thoughts while I wonder what else Don Sweeney has cooking...

  • So the Bruins traded for another local boy, Charlie Coyle, from the Wild in exchange for Ryan Donato.
  • Look, I don't like giving up Donato but he was obviously a work in progress and this team has a short window to get something done with this group. So I understand the deal.
  • That being said, I am not in favor of it, if this is the only deal. Coyle is not going to put this team over the top of the likes of the Lightning. If this was a good depth move and part of a larger deal in the coming days? Then, yes, I'm in favor of it. Let's see what else Sweeney has in store.
  • The Celtics start back up after the All-Star break tonight in Milwaukee ... with no Gordon Hayward (ankle). And the hits just keep on coming.
  • Agree with Kyrie Irving about the overreaction to ... what exactly? His conversation with Kevin Durant with no audio? Irving is right to be ticked off that he had to answer questions about a conversation that no one is quite sure what they said. It's ridiculous.
