Super Bowl LIII

Bedard’s Weekend Briefing 02.01.19: Bring on Super Bowl LIII, Cassidy is not happy with B’s

Good morning!

A few random thoughts while I wonder if I could get killed riding one of the scooters just laying all over Atlanta...

  • So we're starting the final ramp up to the game this weekend. The teams are done with their media responsibilities, the Hall of Fame voting will be revealed on Saturday night, and then we'll hit the game on Sunday.
  • I'll have my exclusive conversation with Josh McDaniels posted in the morning. Some good stuff in there on Wade Phillips and Sean McVay.
  • If you're in town for the game, I'll be at the SportsHub Saturday Party if you want to stop by, grab a few beers and say hi. It's right near the Midtown MARTA station.
  • Patriots seemed very loose at their Thursday press conferences.
  • Found it weird that Nick Caserio was sitting with the coaches again. I asked him if he could be moving over to the coaching side (perhaps as a Chad O'Shea replacement at WRs coach?) and he deflected it.
  • I don't think Dolphins reporters Armando Salguero and Hal Habib left Brian Flores' side all week.
  • Belichick had some nice things to say about Dante Scarnecchis and Ivan Fears. I think Fears is every bit as good a coach as Scar, who looks like he needs a vacation after this one.
  • Big matchup: Patriots rushing vs. Rams front seven.
  • More NBA drama that affects the Celtics.
  • I love Bruce Cassidy. He is not afraid to shoot it straight. This time, he put the D — including Zdeno Charaon blast as the Bruins lost again and are running out of games.

Time to hit the links...
