8:18: Rangers take a 2-1 lead with 14:38 left in the second. Zibanejad deflects one past Halak.

8:08: Second period is underway. Bergeron heads to the box 24 seconds in for a high stick.
7:52: End First: Bruins and Rangers trade scores, but the big news is Rask's exit. Halak will be in for the remainder of the game. That didn't look good for Rask.

- The Bruins won’t take to the ice for quite a while after Saturday’s tilt, with Boston set to enter a league-mandated bye week that will roll into the NHL All-Star Weekend. The Bruins will not resume play until Tuesday, Jan. 29 against the Jets.
- Once again, Boston will make a few adjustments to their lineup ahead of Saturday’s game. Both Ryan Donato and John Moore will be the odd men out for the tilt, with Noel Acciari back centering the fourth line and David Backes skating on the wing with Jakob Forsbacka Karlsson and Danton Heinen. After sitting out one game, Matt Grzelcyk will return to the lineup next to Kevan Miller.
- Tuukka Rask, who is 6-0-1 in his last seven games with a .942 save percentage, will set a team record with his 253rd win in a Bruins sweater if Boston comes away with two points on Saturday.
- Saturday will bring a few reunions out on the ice when it comes to the B’s and Blueshirts. It will mark Adam McQuaid’s first game back at TD Garden since getting dealt in September after nine seasons in Boston, while current Rangers coach and former BU bench boss David Quinn will also battle against a few of his former players in Charlie McAvoy, Grzelcyk and Forsbacka Karlsson.
