In 2018, Patriot players earned $4.35 million out of a possible $23.7 million in incentives taken at BSJ Headquarters (Patriots)

(Adam Richins/Boston Sports Journal)

Last week, we wrote about what incentives could have been earned during the Jets game. So who ended up cashing in their incentives for the 2018 season and who missed out?

Summary: A total of $2.15 million in incentives could have been earned on December 30:

  • Julian Edelman (two touchdowns) - $500,000

  • Lawrence Guy (fifty percent play-time) - $400,000

  • James White (93 total yards from scrimmage) - $250,000

  • Duron Harmon (sixty percent play-time) - $250,000

  • Dont'a Hightower (70 percent play-time) - $250,000

  • Hightower (75 percent play-time) - $250,000

  • Jason McCourty (80 percent play-time) - $200,000

  • Phillip Dorsett (three receptions ) - $50,000

  • Edelman fell short by one touchdown.

  • Guy played over 53 percent of the snaps on Sunday, so he ended the year with exactly 50 percent play-time.

  • White finished 27 total yards from scrimmage -- short of his goal of 1,200 total yards from scrimmage.

  • Harmon played over 80 percent of the snaps to easily surpass 60 percent play-time for the year.

  • Hightower played over 85 percent of the snaps to easily surpass 70 percent play-time for the year - $250,000.

  • Hightower needed to play close to all of the snaps in a game in which the Patriots defense was on the field for at least 62 snaps. Against the Jets, the Pats defense was on the field for only 57 snaps, so Hightower missed earning this incentive by several snaps.

  • McCourty played just enough snaps to go over the 80 percent play-time threshold -- by just one snap.

  • Dorsett had five receptions, putting him over the thirty marker threshold.
