BSJ Daily Briefing 09.07.18: Pats prep for Texans, Eagles escape with win taken at BSJ Headquarters (Regular Features)

Adam Richins/Boston Sports Journal

Good morning!

  • Not exactly the prettiest start to the NFL season last night with the extra late start time, countless penalties and ugly execution for much of the first half. Luckily, some fourth-quarter drama helped make up for it for those that stayed up for it.

  • Matt Ryan doesn't look like he has much left in the tank at this point. He didn't give his receivers a chance on a lot of throws.

  • Hopefully, NBC puts an end to the "green zone" pretty soon. Felt like the first down line is really all you need on that front.

  • BSJ is getting you ready for Sunday already with a full breakdown of the Texans from Greg, along with some picks from our football crew on the upcoming season. Make sure you check it all out.

  • Fun matchup at Fenway tonight between David Price and Gerrit Cole.
