The full NBA schedule won't be released until Friday, but we got a sneak peek of some premier matchups across the league on Wednesday afternoon, as the league announced the national TV schedule for opening week, Christmas day and MLK day.
The Celtics will be busy on opening week, playing the first game of the NBA season on Tuesday, October 16th for the second straight season. This time they will open the year at home though, hosting the Sixers at 8 p.m. in a TNT matchup that will serve as a rematch of last year's Eastern Conference Semifinals. Philadelphia will return to Boston for Christmas day as the Garden hosts a game for the second straight season. It will be a 5:30 p.m. matchup that will be televised nationally on ABC.
The Celtics will also face off with another East rival on Friday night (October 19th) of opening week, traveling north of the border to take on Kawhi Leonard and the Toronto Raptors at 8 p.m. in an ESPN matchup.
The remainder of Boston's 82-game slate will be released on Friday, but you can take a look at the rest of the national TV slate announced thus far below.
