Marcus Smart luckily got over his stomach flu on Friday afternoon and had an opportunity to hold court with the media for the first time since signing his four-year, $52 million deal on Thursday after it was delayed by a day.
"I'm ecstatic," Smart said on a conference call. "This is a blessing. Never in a million years did I [think] I’d be able to play for the Boston Celtics. Growing up watching them and the historic franchise they had and to be part of an organization that had a winning culture is something you’ll never forget and you’ll always remember."
