LAS VEGAS -- Jabari Bird was the best player on the floor in the C's second summer league game on Saturday night, but the shooting guard did not get much help from his teammates in a 82-69 defeat to the Nuggets. Bird scored a game-high 24 points on 9-of-15 shooting, but he was the only player on the shorthanded Celtics to crack double digits in the loss. Semi Ojeleye was held to three points and Guerschon Yabusele added just seven points on 2-of-7 shooting.

Robert Williams (knee tendinitis) was held out by team trainers in the loss and his status remains day-to-day. The loss drops Boston to 1-1 in summer league action. They will have a day off on Sunday and conclude their league play on Monday night against the Hornets.
