A few thoughts while I try to figure out what else Brad Stevens has to do to win NBA Coach of the Year ...
- Finishes for Celtics players/coach in the voting:
MVP (James Harden)
Rookie (Ben Simmons)
Most improved (Victor Oladipo)
Defensive player (Rudy Gobert)
Sixth man (Lou Williams)
Coach (Dwane Casey)
Executive (Daryl Morey)
Sportsmanship (Kemba Walker)
- I get that Casey did a really nice job getting the Raptors the top seed and perhaps there was a little bit of a protest vote, but he did get fired.
- We all know what Stevens did. How is that not more valuable?
- I don't care that Tom Brady was voted No. 1 in whatever the NFL Network puts on during this dead time on the sports calendar.
- People are going to get riled up that the Bruins are in on John Tavares. It would be the upset of the year if they got him. When do the Bruins ever make a huge move like that?
- Yeah, suddenly the Bruins are going to go from penny pinchers to trading David Krejci and/or David Backes and then getting Tavares and re-signing Rick Nash.
- If it happens, it means the Jacobs family means business. Anyone holding their breath for that?
