BSJ Daily Briefing 06.05.18: Patriots back on the practice field, Sox start playing nobodies

Good morning!

A few random thoughts while I try to figure out if Bill Belichick dialed up this rainy weather for minicamp on purpose #NoDaysOffExceptForTomAndGronk...

• Patriots will be back at it later this morning. Make sure you keep it here as Chris will have Live Coverage fired up giving you all the updates you need, and then we'll have our usual comprehensive coverage with photos, videos, stories, and my post-practice analysis so you're completely up to speed on all things Patriots, even though the sessions are closed to the public.


• Still no pads, so it will be difficult to gauge the players at contact positions — both lines and linebackers. We should get a lot more data on the receivers.


• And, of course, TB12 will be on the field. Will he and Bill communicate? Will they fist bump? Much to watch. And yes I'm mocking.


• Red Sox are back in town after two-straight wins, and now we enter the crappy part of the schedule with Detroit and the White Sox coming to town. Catch the fever.


• Guessing my guys over at SeatsForEveryone.com will have some great prices on Sox tickets if you're interested in smaller crowds. That would be a yes:

• You futbol heads, remember the Revs have a U.S. Open Cup match tonight in Louisville.


• Capitals showed the Knights who's the boss last night with a 6-2 win. Now the Caps are in the driver's seat, up 3-1. But they never blow leads...


• Shocker, the NBA Finals have another off day tonight. Worst postseason schedule in sports.


• If you're looking for some really great competition, check out the College Softball World Series. Florida State took Game 1 thanks to this play to double off the potential tying run with no outs in the final inning.

• I'm obviously biased because I coach the game at the youth level, but college softball is very entertaining and it moves quickly (only seven innings!).
