Final: Cavs 87, Celtics 79 – Cold shooting, LeBron (35 points) end C’s unexpected season

A trip for the NBA Finals was there for the taking on Sunday night, but the Celtics could not put the finishing touches on an improbable run.

Instead, a horrific shooting performance by the hosts (34.1 percent from the field) and a wire-to-wire performance from LeBron James (35 points, 15 rebounds, 9 assists) allowed the Cavs to hand the Celtics their first home loss of the postseason, an 87-79 victory in front of a raucous TD Garden.
