First and 10: The 2018 NFL regular season kicks off in 122 days taken at BSJ Headquarters (Patriots)

Adam Richins/Boston Sports Journal

Welcome to first and 10, a roundup of all the (mostly) Patriots-related news you need to start your Monday. Grab your coffee and let’s get to it.

Going to keep the introduction short, because we have a lot going on this morning, including a couple of stories coming soon I think you're really going to like. (And let's face it -- this was more of a Celtics/Bruins/Sox weekend than anything else.) So let's jump right into the links...

1. My weekend notebook looks at a bunch of stuff, including Richard Seymour talking about the Pats drafting two fellow Bulldogs, his feelings about playing for Bill Belichick and what he's up to these days.

2. I'll be having a Monday afternoon Q&A that is set to start at 3 p.m. It's going to be epic, so get your questions in now.

3. Mike Reiss on how the new kickoff rule could help Cordarrelle Patterson.

4. Mike also looks at what could be a clearer timeline from Tom Brady over the next few years.

5. Phil Perry says that with the changeover on the offensive line, the Patriots aren't exactly allowing Dante Scarnecchia to coast in his golden years.

6. D'Angelo Hall thinks the Texans are the biggest challengers to the Patriots, at least in the AFC. “When I think about a healthy Deshaun Watson and getting to see him for a full season — I think they’re going to be really good," he told the NFL Network. "You talked about the Jacksonville defense is the reason you think they have a chance. This Houston Texans defense can rival that Jacksonville defense — if healthy, absolutely.”

7. On Adam Schefter's latest podcast, A.J. Green said new Patriots' back Sony Michel is going to win Rookie of the Year. “I love Sony,” Green said. “You know his versatility and him going to New England – that’s my pick for Rookie of the Year. Mark it down. ... I know how versatile he is. When you put him in a system like New England’s where he can be out there running routes and in the backfield -- all the stuff going on against linebackers.”

8. Speaking of podcasts, Rotoworld's Evan Silva and Warren Sharp of Sharp Football Analysis are two really smart guys, and they got together for a really terrific podcast recently that looks at a bunch of different stuff, including a handful of Patriots topics. Check it out here.

9. Peter King throws some cold water on the Baker Mayfield-to-New England draft rumor.

10. You've got one more week to vote for the Patriots Hall of Fame.
