TAMPA – Nearly every facet of the Lightning’s 5-on-3 penalty kill in the first period of Monday’s 4-2 win against the Bruins was a showcase in how to snuff the man-advantage.

After Tyler Johnson and Ryan McDonagh were called for roughing 15 seconds apart, the Lightning were faced with fending off a minute and 45 seconds of 5-on-3 play – what should have been a daunting task for a team that allowed the second-most, power-play goals in the regular season.
