There has been plenty written in the first month-plus of the 2018 Major League Soccer season by the Revs’ press corps about The Rise of Matt Turner; of how the rookie supplanted not only Brad Knighton, New England’s goalkeeper during the U.S. Open Cup run in ‘16, but also Cody Cropper, the goalkeeper who anchored the ’17 edition of this Original Ten squad; of how he showed extreme amounts of fiery passion after his penalty save against Colorado on March 10; of how he withstood Houston two weekends ago.

The Fairfield University grad and the Park Ridge, New Jersey native added to his collection of solid saves – five of ‘em -- and his press clippings Saturday night, and he also had a good view of the defensive work rate put in by the Revolution despite the 1-nil defeat.

And yes, despite the spoiler in the 77th minute by Jacori Hayes, the Revs had eyebrow-raising and eye-widening moments behind the ball which even impressed this particular defensive skeptic. Seriously.
