Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski is “more likely to continue his football career than retire,” according to a new report from ESPN.
In a story published Saturday night from Jeff Darlington, sources say Gronkowski is “pretty certain” he’ll come back as long as Tom Brady returns for the 2018 season. But at the same time, Darlington details some lingering frustration that exists between Gronkowski and head coach Bill Belichick, as well as others within the organization.
In the story, Darlington says Belichick has expressed frustration as to whether or not Gronkowski is “all-in.” Darlington also says that if Gronkowski shows he is fully committed to football, any friction between him and the head coach will ease. According to one source, the relationship between the two “should not be viewed as irreconcilable” and the situation could be rectified.
But Darlington also notes that if things continue, “all possibilities remain on the table.”
