The Patriots shored up their defensive line depth Saturday by reportedly acquiring defensive tackle Danny Shelton from the Browns.

Field Yates of ESPN.com was first to report the news that the Patriots will be sending Cleveland a conditional draft pick in the deal. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network indicates that the Pats and Browns are flipping mid-round picks as part of the trade.

Shelton, 24, was the No. 12 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft for the Browns. In his three years with Cleveland, he started 44 of the 46 games he appeared in. He posted 128 tackles over that span and added 1.5 sacks.
