Ryan Spooner suffered a right groin adductor tear during the team’s 3-1 loss to the Vegas Golden Knights on Sunday and the expected recovery time is approximately four to six weeks, the Bruins announced Wednesday night.
Spooner has one assist and is a minus-2 in five games this season.
He 25-year-old forward has yet to reach his full potential in the NHL. This will be an opportunity for another prospect in the organization to win a spot on the roster. On Tuesday, the Bruins recalled Peter Cehlarik and Kenny Agostino from the P-Bruins. They will likely play on a line with Riley Nash when the Bruins host the Vancouver Canucks on Thursday at TD Garden.
