BSJ Daily Briefing 08.07.17

Matt Damon and Brock Holt on Sunday. (Bob DeChiara/USA TODAY Sports)

Bit of a lazy weekend around The Hub as some solid weather, especially on Sunday, had a lot of people out and about.

Now it's time for all of us to get ramped up again, as the Sox head out on a crucial road trip, and the Patriots welcome the Jaguars to Gillette this week for a couple practices, and then the exhibition opener on Thursday night.

Couple of housekeeping items:

The Android app better be out today, or somebody's going to get an angry text message. Be on the lookout for that.

And many of you asked, and we listened. You will soon see a print button underneath and to the right of the photo on each story. I tested it out, and it works well. Should in the system soon. Look for this button:

Anyway, let's get going...

LOOKING BACK

Red Sox

Give it up for Chris Price for doing some great work at Fenway as we continued to pitch in for that slacker Sean McAdam. The saving grace for Price and I? Received this text from Mr. Off Days on Sunday night: "Oh...and 2:41 time of game while I was off? And 2:36 today? (Screw) both you guys!?" Our pleasure, Mac. Here's to about three four-hour slogs on the trip.

Price looked at the good vibes coming out of the locker room after a sixth-straight win.

About that lack of power in the Sox lineup...

Notebook looks at the optimism around the returns of Dustin Pedroia and Hanley Ramirez.

Price's Live Coverage of the game, which even mixed in a little football.

Patriots

Yeah, I'm falling for DE Deatrich Wise. The kid has the look of a potential star. Yeah, I said it.

WHAT’S ON TAP

9:30-11:30 a.m.: Patriots and Jaguars joint practice (Bedard, Price)
2 p.m.: Practice report posts.
3 p.m.: Chat TBA.

(Red Sox have an off day)

PARTING THOUGHT

How I imagined McAdam spending the weekend while Price and I were humping it to Fenway.
